The Banano Reddit Tipbot works in every subreddit, with a slightly different command structure, tough most redditors do not know what is the Banano project, it makes no sense, to tip them.
How does the Banano Reddit Tipbot work?
The Banano Reddit Tipbot manages a custodial banano wallet on behalf of the reddit user. Each reddit user can have a managed banano wallet address. Do not forget, this address is managed by Banano_Tipbot, to “communicate” with it you have to send commands as a direct message (DM) to the Banano_Tipbot from your reddit user account. Chat messages do not work, only DM. Banano_Tipbot is a reddit user, thus to communicate or mention it, you have to use u/ Banano_Tipbot in the messages. If you are a new redditor and you have low carma, and less than 7 days old is the account, to send a DM will not be possible. It is due reddit spam protection regulation. Banano_Tipbot sends back to you always a direct message as an answer. If Banano_Tipbot as a service is down, it is not going to work.
How to send a direct message on reddit?
The easiest way is to copy/paste this line to your browser, this will lead to the DM site of reddit, prefilled with the command “balance” to get the available balance of your existing custodial wallet address (you must be logged in to reddit):

If you use reddit in a web-browser, on the top left corner, next to the reddit logo, click on the dropdown menu and choose “Messages” under the “Other” section. You get to the Inbox.
Another possibility is just click in the upper right area on the bell icon (Notifications), and than in the notification area click on the “Messages”. You get into the “Inbox”.
Click on the “Send a Private Message” and prepare the DM like on the picture and hit “Send”.
Banano_Tipbot is getting your DM and will execute the command you have sent to it.
If you use the reddit app, in the right bottom corner there is a bell sign, for the notifications, tap on that.
On the next screen on the very top right corner, there are 3 dots, tap on it and choose “New Message”.
Each DM must have a username to whom you send the message, a subject and a message text, otherwise Banano_Tipbot can not recognize your message.
In each case the Username is: u/Banano_Tipbot
The subject must contain the word command .
The message body must contain the command you want to execute.
Banano_Tipbot answers normally within 10 seconds as DM.
How to get a wallet address by Banano_Tipbot?
The first possibility is that you get banned by someone in the r/banano because of a good post. In this case, Banano_Tipbot realises, that you do not have a custodial wallet in it’s database and generates one.
The second option is, that you send a DM to Banano_Tipbot to get a wallet address. The DM must have in the message body following command: register
