Staking Polkadot (DOT) was really an annoyingtask at the early stage of the project. I used to use instead of the native wallet (https://polkadot.js.org/apps/#/explorer) the kraken staking service.
Kraken takes an overhead, but for that the staking process is just a few clicks and no special knowledge is necessary to stake DOT. Summer 2022 both polkadot.js and Talisman wallet started a service to make the staking process easier. I compared both staking services and using the native website polkadot.js.org is still complicated for a beginner to start staking DOT directly on the blockchain.
In the Talisman wallet, which is available as extension for Chrome, Firefox or some other browsers, not only the staking process is easy, but also to participate in the crowdloans, or just browse the history of the selected wallet address. Do not forget, that Talis can handle also ethereum, so from one wallet you can reach many different blockchains.
On the Talisman app site the staked amount could be checked, rewards can be claimed and from our DOT wallet we can easily stake new funds. I really like in the talisman app, that I do not have to find on my own and choose a preferred DOT validtor, but i can use the pre setted Talisman validator. On the History tab the daily payouts can be also seen and tracked on the blockchain.
I hope that the Talisman site and service will be maintened for a long time and we can enjoy this easy process to stake our DOTs.
